This morning I went to the horse paddocks for about an hour
. I didn't have time to ride, but I helped some girls with saddling and bridling, which was really fun. A lady who was there took some initiative to talk to me, which I appreciated. Her daughters were there to ride. Jean Hecht was also there a little later and seemed very happy about letting me ride. She sent me a list of people with horses to email. After horses, I went with Julie to the Whiteheads' house to debrief. There were mostly pleased with our experience, but agreed with me on the point that we didn't spend as much time with the nationals as expected. I think I would have been more willing to interact with people if I had had a good friend there who was willing to go with me. However, there was a lot to do inside as well, and relationships are hard to establish in such a short time, especially across a language barrier. I do wish we had done more with the people, but we did get a lot done to help the Whiteheads, and I know that with different people in those circumstances, I would do things differently. Kristen moved in this afternoon, and I made yogurt. Then we got Discovery people together at the Tomlinsons and watched a movie.
