This morning, we flew to Port Moresby on the King Air. On the plane, I couldn't help but look at Jim and Ginny and think that I'd only see them for about one more day... In Port Moresby, we went to the Mapang Missionary Home to drop our stuff off. Tyson and we girls walked into town before lunch. There were lots of people and red stains from "buai" on the sidewalk. I don't think I saw any other white people in town. There was a guy preaching on the sidewalk with only one sandal. Some of the stores were really clean and nice looking, and others reminded me of Newark. There's traffic here, too! After lunch, I walked with Jim and Ginny to the bank, but there were about 200 people on line(!), so we left. At 1:30, we all got in a bus and had the driver take us to the Parliament building. The building is quite impressive, though it's shaped like a Sepik spirit house - it even has the rounded door on the left to enter. Since we are white, they let us walk right in and look around. There's a huge totem pole and an insect collection on display in the main lobby. There are huge cathedral ceilings and a staircase front and center leading up to where the press can sit in on Parliament meetings. The Parliament room had leather seats, beautiful woodwork, desks, and mics for each member. The carpet is green
. I sat in one of the press chairs and we all signed the guestbook. We also went to an ice cream place and drove down by the shore. I played some guitar when we got back and after supper. I talked to Ginny a lot! We talked about all kinds of things
. It's obvious how much Jim and Ginny both love their daughters dearly. Ginny was starting to get a bit of a cold tonight, so I gave her a bunch of garlic pills.
